Is there a legit reason why the computer automatically goes to sleep when the battery reaches 15%. If not, is there a way to change the level limit to make the battery last longer?

Sure, just go through your power profiles and change the setting. In Vista, it should be buried under the advanced settings for the individual power profile settings while in XP, it should be under Control Panel->Power options-> Alarms Tab.

Thanks but I can't find it anywhere. The only battery settings I see are based on the number of minutes the computer is in stand-by but I don't see any battery level setting.

EDIT: From your wording of the post seems like you are on Vista. Click on Change advanced power settings and scroll down all the way to Battery and expand it. You should then see the option to change the battery sleep settings.
Laptop shuts down when battery level reaches 15%. Is there a way to modify this?
