My laptop is stuck on the startup screen (the one that says hp on it) and there is a long beeping noise that sounds like it's coming from the inside of the laptop. More specifically, it is coming from the bottom right corner (right of the trackpad). When l try to press escape or f10 enough times, a different beep will sound on every subsequent keystroke (this beep appears to be coming from the speakers). Any thoughts? I have an hp envy 15 with intel i7, 8 gigs of ram, 500 gigs hdd. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the hard drive may be bad.

I dunno though. With a bad HDD you should be able to at least enter the BIOS

I know it's a different system, but I had an HP 8740w, and it did the same thing when I tried to put in a bad stick of ram. It might be worthwhile for you to try and remove both sticks, put one back in, then switch it with the 2nd one.

That's what I think. Beep codes are usually an indication that your RAM is bad. Check your system documentation or HP site for actual meaning. It will be in the user guide.
