I just installed a clean install of vista ultimate 32 bit retail on my notebook and I am trying to scout the web for the latest drivers for my notebook. I need assistance please. Can someone tell me if these are the latest drivers available and if not, can you post a link to download the updated ones. This will help me and may other in a single thread instead of searching through various threads.

I got these drivers between hp.com and different manufactures sites dependign on the hardware.

Heres the list of drivers and the order I installed them...

    Vista Ultimate 32 bit

    What is quick launch buttons?

Why does windows update say there is a newer version of the mouse driver when i install the latest version from synaptics.com? What is the correct version to install?

How can I get the web cam to work?

What is the nforce chipset driver for? I skipped that cuz i think I have a intel chipset.. since i have a core 2 duo so thats why i went to intel.com to download their chipset drivers.

i saw the webcam drivers in the swsetup folder on a dv9000 at compusa the other day.

i'm suprised no one has pulled a jack move yet.

all the drivers were there. audio, webcam. bluetooth.

Couple of things... don't worry about the Synaptics drivers, Windows Update always likes to think it has newer drivers than you do. Just ignore it.

Quicklaunch buttons are the buttons on your system at the top of the keyboard... Quickplay, DVD, Track back, etc. Without the driver those don't function.

I'm a little confused by how you have a backup disc with Quickplay 3 on it. If you backed it up on your system from within XP, it's an older version of Quickplay, not Quickplay 3. If you have Quickplay 3 some other way, disregard this. At any rate, there's a thread on here with a link to download Quickplay 3.0 (for Vista) that another member grabbed off a new notebook.

The webcam could be your biggest problem. Try the driver in the stickied Vista drivers thread. That's the only one anyone's been able to get ahold of. If that's not compatible with your webcam, post the device ID of your webcam here, and someone with a new machine can see if it matches the device ID of the new 9200 series webcams. If it does they can post the drivers from their SwSetup folder. If it doesn't, then you're screwed. HP has made some minor changes to the new models shipping with Vista -- for example, the new dv2200t series has a different audio codec than the existing dv2000ts do, and we're all stuck without proper audio drivers becuase of it. If the same is true of the webcams in certain dv9000 series machines, you may never get a proper driver, if our results so far are any indication.

While we're on the subject of driver lists... What drivers are needed to install windows xp on a dv9000 or how do you compile a list for any specific computer?
