Man hope it comes out soon.... Please Hp please....
-
Umm...they already are. The new dvx500t series are already shipping with the integrated Intel x3100 which supports DX10.
-
I think he meant the Nvidia and ATI Cards
-
-
and according to Wiki, ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA#Comparison_of_GMA_graphics_cores_and_chipsets) the X3500 will support DX10... -
I heard the X3100 pipelines are reprogrammable, thus adding the DX10 support would only require an updated driver.
This may be completely false however..
The wikipedia link from the above post contains the following under the X3000: "As each pipeline is fully programmable, in theory X3000 can target either DirectX 9 or DirectX 10, determined by operating system and device driver. This design is consistent with the DirectX 10 generation of video cards from ATI and nVidia, which also utilize unified pipelines." -
Ok I was mistaken. Some reason I remember reading that Intel would be releasing a driver later this year that would enable Hardware T&L on the x3100 and for some reason I associated that with DX10.
-
I'm hoping June 5! HP is on my "this might be it laptop"-list if only it had the DX10 graphic cards.
-

I am anxiously awaiting the new 8510p business model. Besides the Asus GIS-A1, it is the only other 15.4in model that I'm considering since I need a new computer this summer.
Honestly, I like the looks of HP's business notebooks the best. I think the Asus just looks kind of tacky. Plus, the HP is a little bit smaller/lighter. I'm just waiting to see how the Radeon X2600 stacks up against the 8600GT in the Asus. -
There are random comments all over the board about this, so let's consolidate. The general consensus is that the new GeForce cards will be an option in the x500 series notebooks in early June. I propose that this will happen on a Tuesday, because that seems to be the day when HP has rolled out major changes. Can anyone give SOLID answers to all of our questions (i.e. links, or customer service chats, or anything)? Here's for hoping for Tuesday, June 5.
-
No one's been given solid answers from what I've read. The only even remotely official response was someone saying they called tech support and that they said they were trying to get the graphics cards up but were having internal problems or debates or something (I may be remembering the reason incorrectly, but someone posted something along those lines here).
-
Well it needs to come soon, because the T61 is kicking butt.
-
but yea, hp need to release it before ppl settle for another laptop -
i'm still waiting myself, checking every day
, hopefully they roll them out tomorrow or within the next week or so
-
It'll be such a mad rush once its available...i wonder if it will delay shipping for everyone.
-
I think Santa Rosa came out on a Wednesday.
-
HI, this is my first post here, im also waiting for the x500 series to have Nvidia card and i went to the Nvidia's site and searched for the Geforce 8M series and came up to thins link http://www.nvidia.com/object/wtb_notebooks.html
here is a list of all (or most of) the laptops that have/will have an Nvidia card...
Guess what i found.... the dv6500t will be sporting a GeForce 8400M GS card. but didnt find anything about the 2500 or the 9500.
(sry for my bad english) -
Yes, there aren't any solid answers. No word as of yet.

-
damn i'm happy for you guys! unfortunately i just signed up with the hp student discount thing this wk, so i guess it will take a while for hp to check with the school and all that until i get my discount code.
unless maybe i can apply it later over the phone...i'm planning on getting the 9500t
-
-
really?? maybe depends on school? now i hate my school
-
Where can I sign up for the student discount??
-
Thanks. I'm already registered for EPP (Employee Purchase Program) under my dad's email because he is a government employee. Is there any way I can also register for this student discount on the same email? I'm not sure how.
-
Sorry my bad...it seems that all I needed to do was first sign into my account and once I start customizing the notebook, it shows the APP discount on the side panel. -
-
so do we know this will be available tom for sure?
-
I just finished my undergrad, graduated last month. Do you guys think I can sign up for the student discount? Does HP check with the schools?

thx again for the re-reconfirmation xstation
...i'm drooling over the 9500t!
-
I had talked with a customer service representative much earlier in the day, that also mentioned that the new graphics cards would be " one of the changes coming by 06/06/07". Throughout the entire discussion she used the plural, but would not discuss what the other changes will be. Any speculation?

Yippee. Now all I will need is a 7200 rpm hard drive for the 9500. (Helps when editing video.) Available for the 9000, why not the dv9500.
-
-
Wonderful news, people! Thanks.
-
I'm hoping for a 1920x1200 display! Please! On a 17" screen, that will be great!
-
xstation, you are my hero
-
has anyone asked a csr about any other features being released tomarrow such as the hd optical drive or any better screen resolutions?
-
wow. great news!
Even better, it seems like they will have a dedicated graphic cards with their dv2500t, which im looking to buy.
Thanks for the information xstation, and everyone who confirmed it! -

I just spoke with a pretty hip rep. who thought we would not see a high-end graphics card until the end of the month. He did however say that HP would be releasing a white (as in Apple) color option on June 6, 2007. Well, we will know soon enough.
-
No blu-ray in the link. Just high def screen.
