You should back up your claim with a link. The reason I said blu-ray because, the 8510p will have it as an option, look at the link below. I have no idea where you got your info from. Unless you show us a link, I would have to assume it is blu-ray only. Don't get me wrong. They might have both, but I got to see a link.
Also, it is the dv6500 series and not dv6000 series. You see what I mean.

They released a special edition dv6500t too. Anyone know what the difference is besides the color? Which color do you all like more, the traditional grey or the special edition white? Looks like the special edition dv6500t is more expensive than the normal dv6500t.

    They're here!

DV6500T Special Edition and original DV6500T gives you the 8400M GS option.
DV9500T has the option for both 8400M GS and the 8600M GS.

Don't forget the little guy, 8400M GS is also available on the dv2500t now as well. Looks like a nice travel notebook, and a lot more appealing now that it can handle some light gaming. $50 dollar upgrade over the X3100 as well, I hope everyone waited!

P.S. I reeeeally wish HP would offer at least the option to get a WSXGA on the DV6500T. Seems odd to have an HD-DVD drive and such a low res screen as the only option.

I wish they had put the 8600M GS in the DV6500T. They want people to buy the big 17" to get it, but the trend seems to be towards the smaller 15" and even the 14" size.

For the DV6500T, I'm showing the upgrade from the X3100 to the 8400M GS is $79, and on the Costco site, it's showing up as a $76 difference. It appears that Costco doesn't have the special edition white.

I'm still happy with the X3100 since the laptop will be for my dad. Uses less power, and he doesn't game, so there's nothing wrong with the X3100 for those of us who bought early. Only real bummer with the X3100 is that Ubuntu 7.04 doesn't run on it yet.

I do see laptops like the Asus G1S moving up the chart for gamers.

    same here.

Anyone have benchmarks on the 8400m?
I dont mind to much, because ill play games that arent too dependent on graphics, but its interesting to know for the future.

Don't forget that it seems you get an HDMI port on the dv2500t if you choose the NVIDIA graphics option. Cool.

I'm really bummed. Only the 8400 in the 6500 :( And still can't get the 8600 GT in the 9500. Not the options I was hoping for I guess.....

That's what I thought at first, but there's no need to be sad.. just realize how much the 8400 GS is still a huge improvement over the old 7400 :)
