Does your left palm rest heat up alot? I didnt notice it before but these past few days its been feeling pretty hot... iono whats up.

Oh I should probably specify that I have a dv4t
-
Dv4t has a pretty thin chassis, and if you have an AMD it will run warm.
-
Any Pavilion I've ever had gets kinda warm on the left palmrest, as that is where the hard drive is.

allfiredup Notebook Virtuoso
This was one of the reasons that I decided to return my dv7t. It was uncomfortable to the touch anywhere left of the touchpad...always HOT! The combination of constant heat and a hard drive will NOT end well!

dv4t will be intel, shouldnt be TOO hot. Download RMclock and monitor the CPU temps.
Also if you arent doing anything CPU intensive, set the power mode to "Power Saver", this doesnt allow the CPU to go past 50% capacity, and in my experience with dv5t, kept temps comfortably low. Of course you wont have all the available power, but for internet browsing and what not 50% cpu is fine.
My dv5t ran at about 37-43 degrees celcius. The fan design is not too useful..
