Which set of drivers is more stable?
Which set of drivers has better performance?
Trying to decide which one is better.

install one run in a driver cleaner then install the other run a game benchmark with dx9 and dx11 as welll as synthtic benchamrk like furmark
-
Hey Bass, I have an idea. Since we have the exact same laptops (but yours is overclocked) I wouldn't mind doing a comparison benchmark test between the two, if you'd like. You can do the Leshcat thing and i'll do these.
-
Might as well. I will swap it when i get home.
-
OK so i installed leshcats and they can not handle my OC. Furmark is a blocky piece of crap and so is atitools 3d view. Tried going back to stock. Useless. Going back t my beloved DNA driver.
-
Haha, guess it was just that simple.

Which DNA driver is giving you guys the best performance? How do I go about checking what driver I have installed and installing a new one? I did so once before a few months ago and haven't upgraded since. I know to use driver sweeper, but i'm not sure how to use it properly. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
-
You install driver sweeper, you boot in safe mode, and you run it as admin. (Note: IT WILL FREEZE! Just let it do its thing and wait for it to prompt you to restart)
I prefer these: Windows 7 | Do Not Argue
Just grab the latest version. -
Currently using DNA 12.1.1.

question for you guys, so i am prepared when i get my laptop as i'll be doing a fresh install
1. why would there be much difference between the DNA and leshcat drivers? They are both based on the ATI drivers, so shouldn't they be both the same? If there are any differences, what are they especially between DNA, Leshcat and the Guru3d drivers?
2. Do you need to be a driversweep every time you install a newer version of the graphics driver?
3. Why can't you directly install the drivers from the AMD/ATI page?
4. Do all these drivers also update the Intel drivers?
5. Any reason to install these drivers versus waiting for HP to release theirs?
Also do you need to install the HP drivers first, than install the drivers from Leshcat/DNA/Guru3d or that is not necessary? And why do some people install the newer drivers on top of the HP ones?
Thanks a lot for the help, this is my first laptop as i always used desktops so sorry for basic/stupid questions. -
1. DNA driver has some tweaks that KillerSneak the DNA creator implemented into it, while Leshcat driver is an independant driver with switchable graphic support so you don't need to install it on top of HP driver unlike DNA.
2. Not really, unless u encounter any problem or the upgrade failed.
3. I think because they don't have the source code of Intel graphic driver, that is why they didn't support it officially.
4. Only HP and Leshcat driver bundled with Intel driver. I think AMD upcoming driver might bundled with Intel driver too.. many beta driver has them but incomplete.
5. Sometimes, latest driver fix/improve the performance for newer games. -
thanks a lot for the answers, really helps me out

SO are the Leshcat drivers good, because they seem to be ideal in installing both the intel and amd to the latest versions at the same time. as right now I think I have the whql 11.11 one but haven't updated it for a while.
Thanks. -
^^ So does anyone know if the Leshcat drivers are worth installing more that I'm interested in that it comes configured for switchable graphics.
Thank You -
And leshcat's are unstable in my testing. -
-
Thank You. I might stick with the Guru3D drivers, and might just upgrade to the latest one from them.
