Hi
I just bought lighscribe compatible dvd+r's to try out the lightscribe feature and i was pretty dissapointed at what i got:

1st disc was supposed to say HP DV2500 Driver Backup and the 2nd disc was supposed to be a ring design but only half showed up. The print was incomplete and parts were fadded. Could it be my lightscribe drive, software or even the discs im using??
Im using Verbatim DVD+R 16x using the Roxio Express Labeler that came with the lappy.
First the webcam issues.. now this.. what else am i in for?
Any help or suggestions welcome....

DVD+Rs don't typically burn well with lightscribe. I haven't had the incomplete/faded print issue, but when I burn a Lightscribe DVD+R, I usually get rather faint (but 100% consistant) labels.
BTW I used HP DVD+Rs with Sonic express labeler. Could either be the discs or the drive. It's not likely that it's the software, but you never know.
Try different discs first; particularly CD-R/RWs. Lightscribe CDs typically burn much better than the DVDs do.
I've attached a pic of what Lightscribe DVD+Rs should look like: -
Thanks for the reply,
Ive downloaded an updated firmware and a simple labeler program from the lightscribe website this morning.. I will try it first as soon as i get home from work today. If that doesnt work, i will be buying a different brand of lightscribe dvds
What quality did you use for those cd's in the photo the attachment? (Best, Normal, Draft)
I tried doing my ones on the Best quality which takes the longest.
Hopefully i also get my $15 ebay laptop cooler today and the lightscribe driver properly working... -
First one was best, second one was best after running the LightScribe ELCU (Enhanced Light and Contrast Utility).
Lightscribe not labeling correctly
