I've been using the included Sonic software for months, to create Lightscribe designs on my DVD's and CD's.

Well, a week ago, when I tried to open up Express Labeler (Sonic), I get an error message, and the program refuses to launch.

If I open up Sonic, it will open and burns CD's and DVDs, but trying to switch to the labeler portion gives me an error message, and refuses to open.

I went online, and found SureThing CD Labeler for free.

However, while SureThing WILL burn Lightscribe labels, it's really a confusing and unpleasant program to use, as compared to my experiences with Express Labeler, which was much easier and a pleasure.

Anyone know if (1) I can somehow get a copy of Sonic from HP, to try to reinstall, or (2) another FREE program to burn Lightscribe designs onto my DVD's and/or CD's?

Don't really want to pay for a program which does something I don't do all that often, and which I already have two programs which can accomplish the task (although, granted, one of them won't launch)

    Any help would be aprpeciated!

(Sonic wants $35 for techinical assistance!!!! Are they out of their frigg'n minds???)

theres always away to get pay software for free on the net if you want to do it that way, but maybe ur sonic program got currupt somehow or maybe that portion of the software was shareware.

    Hey Darth
It wasn't shareware, the program (Sonic) came with my HP.

I'm sure it somehow got corrupted. I'll have to try again to contact HP and see if there's any way they can get me a backup copy of Sonic, but somehow, I doubt they will.

Was just hoping that, just as I found SureThing CD Labeler for free, perhaps someone knew of another program which would write Lightscribe labels for free...

    Thanks

Do you still have a your SWSetup folder? There should be a copy of the Sonic installation files in there.

    Thanks!

I do still have it. Didn't know that a copy of the installation would be in there. I'll give that a try.

    Really appreciate it!
