I hope this is the right section for this. I could have posted it in the Linux section, but since it's a specific question about the V2000, I thought it could go here.

Heres my problem. No distro of Linux I've found seems to support the built in wi-fi card on the V2000. There seems to be drivers, but the problem is with the wi-fi button on the computer. When the computer boots to linux, the wi-fi is switched off, and the button won't work to turn it on.

I guess the short version of my question is this: is anyone with a V2000 running Linux, and if so, which distro? And how?

Feel free to respond in a PM if this subject isn't useful enough to be in a public thread.

Is this an AMD-based V2000z with a Broadcom WiFi card or an Intel-based V2000t with an Intel card? If it's the former the trouble is probably that with Broadcom people have to resort to using WinXP drivers via a software adapter such as ndiswrapper. If it's the latter... hmm, don't know.
