Has anyone installed Linux on the v5000z.
I hope to get my notebook approx mid next week.
If you have installed Linux on this notebook, please list forums or other resources that you found or find here. When I recieve my laptop I will be doing a stage 1 Gentoo Linux install. I will document my experience but some input on what works and what does not at this time would be great!

o yea.. gentoo all the way lol

I just finished installing Fedora Core 4 (AMD64) on my v5015us. That's a prepackaged v5000z. I had no issues, and everything works fine (not sure about the modem, I don't use it). I just googled for questions I had when things didn't seem right, and how to get the wireless working (you need to use ndiswrapper and the Windows drivers). I also used http://linux-on-laptops.com/ for a lot of information.
