Hope someone knows what useful little app or service this was. It's been with me for ages - not sure where it came from or where it's gone now. Please see the screenshot - a mock-up of what it looked like.
It's been really handy, as I tend to hit capslock by aCCIDent a lot. (ho ho)

Anyone recognise this critter? Would love to find him again!
[ed] I have a HP8510, though I don't know if this little thing is part of the HP software or something else I had installed.

Have you recently disabled certain apps from starting when you reboot your computer?
Go into msconfig and try to (re)enable somethings.
If that doesnt work, try this prog I found... http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...-102042&prodTypeId=329290&prodSeriesId=341232 -
actually, I downloaded and installed the program from the link. It's not the one you are looking for.

Hi mujjuman, thanks for checking that out for me, very kind of you!
I must have changed something, but having looked in services and registry startup (machine and user) I can't work out what it could have been. Very odd! I'm curious if anyone has seen this before - it's the most useful little caps indicator I've ever seen (both practical and unobtrusive). -
Have you try reinstalling HP Quick Launch Button Software
