I have a HP zv5000t with built-in Bluetooth. I tried to install my Logitech MX900 bluetooth mouse. Followed Logitech directions by connecting the hub to the usb port and loaded the Logitech software. The software saw the pre-installed bluetooth and did not install SetPoint.

Mouse works fine with the hub connected by the cable. However, I want to have the mouse work without the hub and cable attached. When I disconnect the cable and try to connect the mouse, no luck. I searched HP help, Logitech's website, Microsoft website, and cannot find an easy answer to make this happen.

Logitech said to go into control panel and open Bluetooth Devices. However, this icon does not show up on my control panel. It does acknowledge Bluetooth is installed in the device manager and says it is working properly. Did I make the icon go away when I loaded Logitech's software?

Help. In laymans terms, what am I doing wrong?

    Thanks.

You didn't need to install the Logitech software and hub at all. Go get the current Bluetooth drivers from the HP website and install them. Right-click on the Bluetooth icon in your system tray (lower right corner of your screen), select Explore My Bluetooth Places, press and hold the discovery button on your mouse, select View devices in range, and when it sees your mouse you can let go of the button. Right-click on your mouse icon and pair the device.

Hopefully the Logitech software won't interfere with your HP Bluetooth stuff. It's possible that you'll need to uninstall the Logitech software and drivers. Hopefully that won't be necessary.

I'm using a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse with my zv5000z.

Awesome. Thank you. I uninstalled the Logitech software before I downloaded the HP drivers. Everything works now. Thanks again, much appreciated.
