The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. got my dv7t and set it to when I close lid, not to sleep but do nothing.

Problem is when I close my lid, my fingerprint reader keeps thinking that someone's swiping finger or something. I keep hearing the "I didn't get that" click thing that it does.

It's not doing the "unrecognized fingerprint" sound (which is opposite of "verified" chime), it's doing the clicking noise (when you tap the reader a bit).

Any way to get this to stop? Lol....

One way around this problem is by using Lawrence's(NBR member) Winbubble program to turn the monitor off manually. My laptop screen gets quite warm when I close the lid and have the monitor go off.
