Alright so on Sunday I purchased a customized HP dv6t Quad Edition with all the bells and whistles (the laptop is in my sig, feel free to leave comments about it, because I want to be able to Shogun 2 Total War and i heard it could be played on Ultra settings with my config). So after I made the final purchase I saw the shipping day, which was the 27th, ten days after i purchased it. I thought to myself, wow, thats a long time to build a computer. Now I understand that HP is a worldwide company and that they get a lot of orders each day, but does that day pan out to be the day that it would ship? I've seen several other older posts from like, 2008, that have said that it usually is done in a few days, and most people have at their house usually before the estimated shipping day. Is that still the case today, or has that kind occurance changed. Please reply back, im very excited for this computer nonetheless and it being my first laptop, and im 16 and very tech savvy. Thanks
    Best Regards,

    MagZ

The date quoted by HP is the actual shipping date. If you did not choose expedited shipping, you can expect a 5-7 day wait for shipping time.

The Ivy bridge DV6T / DV7T Quad systems are new, most brick and mortar suppliers don't have these systems in stores yet. The systems are being shipped from the manufacturer (China or Taiwan ?), as they are built.

From what I understand, most are receiving a shipping date actually earlier than the promised ship date, by a couple days at least.

    Best, Les.
