Im looking to get this laptop from Best Buy in a few days. Its on sale for $850. Im not looking for a top of the line laptop but i think this is a really good one. I love that it has the brightview HD screen, 3GB memory, 250gb hardrive, and a pretty good graphics card, even though im not gonna be playing games on it really. I dont know about the processor, i dont know much about computers here but i do know the Core 2 Duo is a good one and comes with alot of laptops these days. But what about this one? The "AMD Turion X2 RM-70 Dual-Core Mobile Processor", is that better then the Core 2 Duo or crappier? Another good feature is the Blue Ray Player, id love to watch them on there and when i eventually get a 1080p lcd tv, i can watch them on there. And finally it looks REALLY nice. So does anyone on here have this laptop and could tell me more about it? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!!!

Alot of internet surfing, downloading alot of music, watch downloaded movies, burn cd's and thats basically about it. Blu-Ray would be a nice bonus too. This is going to be my first laptop, i dont really need anything too fancy. I was looking at getting this one because they have it at best buy and im not going to be buying it i am gonna do that financing thing they have. You pay a fee of $70 and then you can pay it all off whenever you want within 1 year so thats why the laptop has to be from there aswell!!!

Actually im kinda double minded about the blu-ray add on because i dont even have a 1080p tv nor a lcd one yet. And i dont think i would really be buying blu-ray dvd's to watch on the laptop, as long as the screens hd and i download some good quality movies to watch then im happy. I just thought it would be a good investment really!!!

I skipped the blu-ray on mine; I suspect it's going to be a very short-lived format.

Whats a cooling pad and how much is it? Do you think i should get the DV5t instead? That one seems to be the most popular HP laptop on this forum!!!

Blu-ray is overrated (I have a PS3 and a few Blu-rays for it). In a few years iTunes/Amazon/cable/satellite will all have 1080p movies on demand.

The dv5z should be more than fast enough for what you would use it for.

Yea you can't really go wrong with either the dv5t or the dv5z. The dv5t is probably more popular because it has an option for a relatively powerful graphics card (only useful for gaming) and gets better battery life but it comes at higher cost. For normal everyday stuff like web browsing, email, IM, word processing, music, pictures, YouTube, etc. any HP laptop will effectively feel about the same speed though as long as you give it enough RAM (2 GB or more for Vista).

I do however want a fast processor, at least 200gb hardrive, 3gb ram, fingerprint n webcam, any decent graphics card, the HD brightview infiniity screen would be really nice to have aswell, tv tuner and maybe a HDMI aswell, but not a biggie!!!
