I'm looking for laptops for school reports, music, and maybe the odd computer game(nothing heavy). the dv1000 catches my eye because of the good price, and solid base specs.
My question for those who have this notebook: What are your thoughts on it? How is it size wise? I wont be bringing it to school and back everyday, but I may bring it occasionally so I dont want somthing heavy and bulky.Lastly, as I said above, I wont use it for heavy gaming but I assume it would be able to play a game like The Sims 2 for example(?).
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

sean,
If heavy gaming or 3D graphics aren't a major concern, then the dv1000 has a lot to offer. Lightweight, widescreen, long battery life and solid overall performance make it an excellent portable. You can view additional reviews at www.dv1000forums.com
I got mine to use as a travel notebook - to support my desktop (not as a desktop replacement), and it fills that role wonderfully.

I just bought one today after sending back the zv5000z for going psycho within 30 minutes of use. It should arrive by Dec 10 so I'll post a review soon after. I'm a little worried about all the negative comments on the screen because although I'm not excited about brightview I get the impression that what once passed as regular has deteriorated drastically in quality. I guess we'll see.
Looking at the dv1000
