There seem to be a plethora of options from HP in both consumer and business lines, so I'm a little confused. I originally thought I'd go with the Elitebook Folio 9470m, but then I found out it has a low-voltage proc. Does a ULV proc work just fine for any kind of Adobe-type work? Here's my basic criteria:

    Full-power processor, dual or quad
    Thin/portable (14" would be ideal)
I actually prefer plastic, but I can tolerate a metal body
    1366 x 768 resolution in the 13-14" size
    Matte, anti-glare screen
    Backlit keyboard
    8GB+ RAM
Excellent battery life would be great

I don't need an optical drive or discrete GPU.

    Envy Spectre 13 or 14?

The 14 has a 900p screen, and the 13 screen is glossy :|

Looks like all of the Envy's are glossy, so you may be out of luck with HP.

If you get a Core i5 3rd generation ULV processor you'll be just fine running any Adobe applications. I wouldn't worry about the fact it's not a fully fledged regular voltage processor unless you're doing a ton of video processing or other CPU intensive tasks. Having an SSD may be a better performance boost that faster processor for your needs anyway.

Lenovo Thinkpad T420s would fit your needs quite well. If it HAS to be an HP the Folio is the only thin and light they make without a glossy screen.
