Well I'm running into an issue with my tx2500. I usually don't ask for help, rather I'm usually responding so this is kinda awkward. I have a vista disc and when formatting and installing everything works perfect until after the first reboot. When the installer comes back up it stays at Completing install for hours and hours. I can move the mouse and it doesn't seem to be stuck but it just wont move on to the next step. I had a similar issue with my dell and it was just a matter of loading SATA AHCI driver before the install, but this wont work because my dell is intel based and this is an AMD/ATi setup.
Basically Ive tried everything and Im totally at a loss here. I love this tablet, but all the bloatware and HP factory install just bogged the machine down way too much. Can anyone please help me out here Im desperate...

What sort of a Vista disc are you using? I have reinstalled Vista on mine using both retail(upgrade DVD) and a vista express upgrade DVD. Both installs went without a hitch. So, Vista shouldn't have any issues installing on the tx2500.

Honestly it sounds like you are on the right track. My bet is that it's a driver hanging up the completion of the install. -
Im using a modified version of my dell vista disc. Basically I made an iso of my dell disc without the script and license key input.

I dont have any drivers to install since HP doesnt have a disc with drivers.

Have you tried using the standard HP install disk to install vista and see if the problem is still there?
-
HP doesnt send a disc with this HP.

order or download the vista anytime upgrade cd, and use that. dell cd's are dell motherboard specific, and only include drivers for components they use in their computers, so you need to get a general vista cd ie the anytime upgrade cd and reinstall off there. Its like 10 bucks from microsoft on their website.

You can as well as I did create a general vista disc (same as anytime upgrade) using a dell disc. The one I have has no dell software or scripts on it and boots perfect. It just takes time searching and getting rid certain files, and using the right app to make a bootable ISO burn. Either way Im on the recovery partition now and just going to wait til I buy a business license.
Looking for a little vista install help.
