It's happened a few times (I've had my laptop for about 2 months, it's a dv6700t). Sometimes when I turn on my laptop, and it's connected to the AC adapter, mouse adapter, printer, USB cooler and Quickdock, the laptop starts beeping very loudly (-.. -.. -.. and so on) and it won't turn on until I disconnect both the cooler and printer, disconnecting any other cable or device doesn't make any difference.

Does anybody know what can be causing this problem?

I recorded the beep and uploaded it here

ah, I also have this problem, actually you could turning off this annoying beep pretty easily.

Go to control panel>sound and audio devices>on the tab of device volume , click advanced. You will see sliders (master volume window), go to options>properties>tick the "PC Beep" to make it appears in volume control. Now just mute it.

It's not the volume beeping, it happens sometimes when I turn on the computer. I don't want to turn it down or off, I mean, there must be a reason it's doing that.

disable booting by USB or whatever in the BIOS. the USB devices are conflicting with POST tests. Try a different port or something

theres a chart somewhere where it explains what the phoniex BIOS beeps mean
