My Notebook's Processor and RAM Subscore went down from 4.6 to 1.5 (Processor) and 4.9 to 1.3 (RAM)..this results came after i did a fresh install of windows vista ultimate.

what would be the cause of this very low Subscore..

    Thanks..

    Please Help!

I'd say not yet the right drivers installed? for the chipset and such?

still, that's quite wierd. normally you see a drop down to 1.0 (mainly gpu stuff) when the gpu driver is missing. strange.

    check your drivers again maybe?

Yeah, WEI is a crappy benchmark utility. If your system is as responsive as before the clean install, don't worry.

I agree, dont worry about it. Just make sure your chipset drivers are fully updated.

It happened because the drivers are not updated, that happened to me until I go the drivers.

Make sure you arent trying to run the WEI under power saver mode(does it even run udner power saver mode?). The cpu should have by default all the necessary drivers and it shouldnt simply show a low score even with a bare reinstall. The same applies for the RAM, the video performance on ther other hand is influenced by the drivers.

Try running it once again making sure the laptop is either in Balanced or high performance mode with all the necessary drivers installed. BTW, is Aero working even with the low scores?

Since we are into this...I have seen different WEI scores on the DV7 and also HDX16t...first versions, with almost the same config score differently...

Why is that, mine is 4.8 being graphics the lowest, but similar configs get b/w 5-5.3...not that I trust this, but it seems as a good question.

i noticed that if you change the color setting to windows vista home basic the graphics rating goes up to 5.0
