What are the chances of the new envy 14 SB edition (if there is going to be one) having a high res screen? Do you think they'd release a laptop of this caliber without one? has any other manufacturer released a high end laptop in 2011 with out a high res option?

I'm considering selling my Radiance screen by itself (people could then sell their bv's and it would be good for both of us) in hopes of putting the cash towards a sandy bridge envy but without a high res screen option on the sandy bridge envy i'm not sure it would be worth it and i'd kick myself in the butt. So what do you guys think?

You can't put it in the beats edition. He tried replacing the beats bv with the radiance and it didn't work. It will work for regular envy 14's though. I replaced a cracked radiance with a bv on a regular envy 14 so it works.

I'm not sure where to find a MODERATOR so please excuse this post. Could a mod please change the title of my ad in the marketplace to add radiance.

dude, idk man. I'm thinkin you should keep the radiance. (is it your only one? i see 2 e14's in your sig) even if it is high res, i highly doubt whatever they're updating the laptop with is gonna be comparable to the radiance. but i see you'd be trading quality screen for updated performance. theres always gonna be a risk tho. haha

The high res option is going to be very Dependant on HP's choice of Chassis. If they keep the current Chassis, I'm going to say the chances of a high res option are not particularly likely, seeing as HP is the only laptop OEM using the 14.5 inch size.

Well i'm crossing my fingers as i've decided to put my radiance screen up for sale separately to put the money towards a new laptop. Hopefully it works out.

I have not seen any newer 14" or smaller laptops with high res screen options. I looked a bit but they all seem gone right now. I may just not be looking hard enough. Personally I think I am getting a little old for having my laptop be that Hi Res :)

I stand corrected the new Alienware has 1980 screen. How in the world you would use this on a 14" laptop screen is beyond me.

I believe sony has a 1080 13" screen. That is one reason i'm selling my radiance screen because my eyes are so bad. I had to change the settings to make text bigger.
