I got a Vista Premium with TV Tuner. It came with a large remote and IR dongle. I do not use these on my laptop since the little expresscard remote works just fine and more portable then a dongle and a huge fullsize remote.
Has anyone has success on using this dongle and remote on an XP Pro system. Currently it does not find drivers for the dongle when I plug it in. I know ity was designed for MCE 2005 but there must be a way. Thinking about using MediaPortal on my XP Pro sytem which supports MCE remotes but I can't get past the install of the dongle at this time. When I plug it in it is detected as "BB+ Dongle ..." and never finds any drivers anywhere. Is the HP remote /dongle combo same as official MCE remote/dongle? What is the trick in getting it to work?

If you have found a solution to this, could you post here. I went back to WinXP from Vista Ultimate 64 and have not found a suitable driver.

    Thanks.

I'm talking about using it on an XP Pro Machine. On my other laptop with MCE/Vista its detected and works fine , although it comes up as Microsoft eAutomation device or something. Yet on the XP machine its detected as as "BB+ Dongle " and every driver I tried that supposed to be compatible with MCE remotes does not work.
    Anyone try this??
