With no detailed spec from AMD. Just as usual. AMD always make fans guessing.

Possibly a typo? K is lower than L so whatever MK-36 is, it might take up more power.

brianstretch Notebook Virtuoso
It's not a typo. It's a singlecore, Socket S1 2GHz chip. I'd stick with the ML series dualcores, TL52 and higher.

I wonder what's the purpose of this CPU. Is it low cost alternative to dualcores, with possible upgrade later?

If my guess is right, it possible provide virtualization in this chip that similar to Intel Hyperthread. That is the only difference from new Sempron S1 64bit. The strange thing is the TPD is so high, 31W=2 cores TPD. What makes it so costly?
Besides, I really like ML-37 although it is 35W based. Hope this MK-36 will perform as good as ML-37. -
Vrstualization is not equal to Hyperthreading.Virtualization is basically hardware support for running virtual OS(vmware...). The MK 36 is possibly there for marketing reasons. More people would buy a "high end" Turion system rather than if the same processor was named as a Sempron. It is also there to compete with the Core Solo.

right, amd confused me with their product.so now ,is there any different between sempron mobile and turion 64 line? they both have 64 bit version , low cache, power now( step mode)! has anyone found any benchmarch or review about their chip on new socket S1(sempron mobile and turion)?

I've been seeing this in computers advertised at Fry's and haven't been able to find out any information on it, either...
