This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Macbook-like Gesture Touchpad Functionality Upgrade?

    If you think the new touchpad features that the Macbooks have are cool (like pinching to zoom, etc.), Synaptics (installed on our laptops) says it is upgrading the firmware to offer similar functionality. Here is the press release:

    Does anyone have an idea when it will be available?

    I don't know if the new gesture functionality will be offered for free to current user, but if it is, I imagine the driver will show up here at the following link. Even though the press release announced this earlier this month, the 10.1.8 driver I downloaded last night does not appear to have the upgraded functionality.
