    Making partitions problem

    Hi!
    I have purchuased a nx9420 with core2 duo (2.16) and i have a problems creating extra partitons.I am using partition magic 8.0 and when the computer restarts instead of making partiton it says error and comp reboots without any changes.any ideas?i didnt format c partitons,perhaps some kind of hp software is blocking partition magic?

    Hrcko, Im having the same issue as yours. Have you tried Gparted Live CD already? Does it work?

    I use bootitng instead of GPartedLive, I think its a better program, and more realiable in my opinion.

    When you run it, it will ask you if you want to install, click no and do your partitions.

    Best part is, if you install it you have to buy it to get all the features, if you dont install you can use it all day and not have to purchase.

    Nope.i didnt have time to try it.Although it seems like some programs which came installed with the notebook are causing this problem with partition magic.

    I think one needs to run chkdsk before using partition magic. I remember this was a solution that was answered on the forums sometime back.

    Well, did anyone have any success making another partition on nx9420?
    What software did you use and please let us know how you did it.
