Uggh, it's killing me. I desperately want to pull the trigger on buying the DV2000, but I just can't commit to the glare issues with the glossy screen. I want to be able to use the notebook outdoors and by windows, etc. Any idea if Matte will be avail? Or if I'm making too big a deal out of the glare issues with a glossy?
Thanks

i was afraid that i'd have problems but to tell the truth i couldnt be happier with such spectacular contrast and colours. oh, and outdoors if its bad, then you only need to turn yourself round by 45 degrees and youll be alright
oh and remember that matte aint so perfect in heavy sunlight either -
I really like the look of the glossy screens, but I had worried that it would be difficult to work on documents/text if there's any ambient light. I believe, if you're really worried about it and really want the dv2000, you can buy screen covers that will give it a matte look and reduce the reflectiveness.
On the other hand, it doesn't worry me as much anymore... Those screens aren't much (any?) more reflective than a regular glass CRT monitor screen (especially a non-flat screen one). And those aren't too much of a pain to look at for long periods of time. Trust me, I still have a 19-inch behemoth taking up a third of my desk... maybe not for much longer, though. -
Thank you for the advice!
