    Hi,

    I got a new nx9420, but the max resolution is at 1440 x 900 :-(

I had a few nx8220, which also had that setting, but on one I managed to get it up to 1680 x 1050. Don't know how, but as a test showed, installing that image on another machine, that machine got the larger resolution too!

So I hope that on the nx9420, which got a larger display, there is also a way of increasing the max resolution a bit. Does anyone know what driver or tweak would allow for this???

    Thanks

The max resolution you see is the native resolution of your panel. It is only remotely connected to the actual size of it. It is highly recommended to stick to it.

    If not: powerstrip

You didnt get the display with the BrightView feature, otherwise you would be able to go up to 1680 x 1050.

Most of the displays are 1440 x 900 (WXGA) but some of the higher end models have WSXGA which is 1680 x 1050. If you somehow got a hold of a higher end nw9440 screen/display, it should be WUXGA or 1920 x 1080 at native resolution. Just be sure to check the native resolution when buying notebooks because I believe you can lower the resolution but rarely increase the resolution to a clear viewable state.

I stand corrected. It's definitely not a BrightView or a WSXGA, but he has the WXGA screen (This is mentioned inside this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=73156). If somehow you could purchase the WSXGA model, you could get up to 1680X1050.
