The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Fisrt I wanted to say thanks to NBR and the members for some great tutorials. :)

    I just completed a clean install of MCE on my DV6150. I have QuickPlay working, Media Center with TV tuner & remote working, SATA controller working, System Recovery directory working with the HP restore partition in place, LightScribe working also along with the webcam. :)

    I have followed all the clean install threads and what to reinstall and what to not install. I searched and could not find anything on this one.

    What does it install for Media Center and do I really need it?
