Hi,
I bought a Pav. dv9500t laptop 2ish months ago and I moronically config'ed it with 2gb of memory vs. getting the lowest amount possible and ordering memory from elsewhere...which I had planned on doing but blanked it out of my thoughts as I was trying to use a 30% off coupon before it went away.
Sooooo NOW I want to utilize the current memory deals (e.g., those on new egg) and upgrade to either 3gb or 4gb( 3.2 or 3.5 whatever it actually reads...would get a 2nd 2gb card simply because of the low price.)
I can't figure out what memory this dang thing utilizes. Crucials memory scanner finds the amount of memory I have but does not list the type of memory and it says crucial does not have memory for my laptop. I go to replacement parts on HP and it offers 240 pin ddr2 sdram @ 667 mhz replacement modules (so I assume mine is unless HP made an error which is possible with HP...) (sidenote: HAHA... they offer a 2gb module for $1800....W T H.)
On new egg......only desktop memory has 240 pin so does that mean that the dv9500t uses desktop memory modules?

The HP 9500t does not take desktop memory. It takes DDR2-667 PC-5300/5400 200-pin So-dimm. Check out the hot ram deals thread for great prices on memory.
Next time, do a manual search on Crucials(or any other ram company-kingston/corsair/etc) site and it should lead you in the right direction.
