So I ordered my Dv4000 with the 1 stick of 256 so I can buy for much cheaper my own memory from newegg or something. Will someone point me to what I should buy. I am gonna buy a 1 GB stick to make the total 1.25 gb. Suggestions?

    Thanks

Order from Crucial.com. It's worth it for the lifetime no hassle warranty! :hp:

If it were me, I'd wait until I was able to pull the existing stick out to verify the specs. While talking with HP when I placed my order, I heard everything from 333 MHz to 533 MHz, and some in-between. One even told me it came with 6xx MHz.

Because of this I just decided to bite the bullet and order my 1 GB direct from them, but what you're doing was my first inclination.
