    Hi All,

    Has anyone or does anyone know if is possible to put 4gig of ddr2-533 into
    a X6000?

    Most likely not, as most notebook only has support for 2 sticks of memory.

    Apparently it's a Compaq Desktop, so says Google. I thought it didn't sound like a notebook model...

    Then, it could be possible to use 4gb of RAM, but I don't know how many RAM slots it has, so...



    But, this should go in the Desktop section.

    Alright folks, the X6000 is not a desktop but is just the Compaq equivalent of the zd8000(17", P4). They discontinued it more than a year ago and was the last Compaq model they offered with a 17" screen.

    Highly unlikely, since the X6000 has only 2 slots, so you will have to use 2X2GB modules. The X6000 being too old and discontinued probably does not support these 2GB modules.

    Plus, 2gb on 1 chip could be very expensive
