    Mic In = line in?

    Well guys i am trying to record a mix of me DJing through my mixer into my laptop. but the only problem i am having is that i don't have a line in input. So i heard that the mic can be used as a line in, but i don't know if my laptop can do that. i have the HP dv5z. can anyone help me out? if there is how do i switch it from mic to line in? because my sound settings doesnt have that. Thank you guys!

    yes you can use the mic port as line in, and IIRC you don't need to change any settings
