I posted about a microphone issue earlier, but didn't receive any help really...haha. No biggie, just really don't want to have to ship it in, or do a factory restore.

So, the problem is that my integrated mic on my HP dv6t Quad Edition no longer works. I know it worked when I first got it, but now it doesn't. I'm not sure which driver controls the mic, so I don't know if it's a driver issue or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

There is a driver, but it's only for the beats features. Basic speakers and mic should always work. Right click your volume icon in the system tray and select 'recording devices.' Does it show an integrated microphone array? Is it enabled? Does the level go up when you make noise?

The integrated mic array is enabled and set as default device. The level does not go up when I make noise.

I'm actually having this same problem with my dv6t Select Edition. External mics work fine, but the internal one isn't picking up any sound.

You can try (re)installing the audio drivers by running the setup under C:\SWSetup\drivers\audio*, but honestly, that's probably a long shot. Try factory restoring; if that doesn't work, it sounds like you guys have defective units and will need to RMA.
