    I know it worked when I got it, and there hasn't been any accidents with my new laptop (dv6 quad edition) that could relate to the issue. I have gone through driver updates (I believe I got the right ones...). All I know is that the microphone no longer works at all. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks. :)

    Just a few things I thought of...

    check the volume for the mic
    does it show up in the device manager?
    is it set as the default mic?
    try a restart?
    Hope that works, if not, is it still under warranty?

    Mic volume is full blast.

    I'm not even sure what the mic is called under device manager. The only items located under 'Sound' are:
    CyberLink WebCam Virtual Driver (obviously not it)
    IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (seems like it could be it, but it's only a codec?)
    Intel(R) Display Audio (no idea what that is...)

    I've done a driver update on the IDT, but it didn't fix the issue.

    Yes, it is default.

    Restart=no worky.

    I believe I still have warranty, yes. But I don't think it's a hardware issue since it worked not even 2 weeks ago and I have barely even moved it.

    Sorry about the double post, but I'd really like some assistance. Everything I have tried doesn't work and it'd be great if someone could point me in the right direction
