Right away I noticed the DV9500t's microphones have the worlds worst sensitivity. You have to yell directly into the mics at full gain and boost just to get the meter halfway up the scale. The distortion at that level is incredible, with not much recordable good sound. At first I thought I had a defective unit, until I went to BestBuy and tried a couple 9500's and one 6500, and got the same results. It would seem that the built in mics are worthless for VOIP. Why HP even bothered to install two mics is beyond me.

Next I tried an external mic, and found it was a little better, but not much.

Do you think it is a driver issue, and does everyone have this problem?
