I have a problem with the dynamic switching graphics on Minecraft. Even though I have set Minecraft to high performance, it uses the Intel graphics and not the 6770m.

[SOLVED] Laptop under-performing (low FPS) - Minecraft Forum
Here is a thread about somebody with the same issue, but he has an nVidia card. I have set the javaw.exe file to high performance just like the person in that thread, but i'm not seeing any difference in performace at all.

Has anyone else played Minecraft on their dynamic switching laptop with this problem? Thank you.

Yea I'm having the same problem. I guess there's something else I need to set to high but atm I'm taking a break from Minecraft.

Come on, no one else has tried to play Minecraft on their system yet? ;)

I've also tried setting the other java.exe files to high performance just to see if it works.. but still nothing.

what are YOU griping about? :) I've waited over a week for someone to load up FSX and tell me if they can get the Radeon to work within FSX. :)

I'm downloading the FSX trial version right now :) I hope I can get it to actually work so I can see how well I can FAIL at that game :)

Well for my Raedon that works, it was still a no-go for FSX. The .exe was set to high performance and I'm still running on the intel GPU.

A link that MIGHT help in the future is http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/crossfirex-app-profiles.aspx

The mods on the RIFT forums suggested that you install the app profiles as they may help your game performance. I'm guessing it is sortof a mini patch than might help specific games. That said, despite not having crossfire, they said it might help. I have no noticeable difference in RIFT though. :/

I have the same problem, I think. When I set minecraft to essentially full settings I get 15-25 fps. My MacBook with an Nvidia 320m IGP is getting better framerates than that.

I set javaw.exe to high and nothing happens. When I load up minecraft, the fans kick in high gear, but framerates are low.

    I WANT MANUAL SWITCHING!!!

I can't get it to go any higher than about 25 FPS myself :( Let me know if you find a way around it. I'm going to try to install the 11.6 drivers and see if that helps.

I'm gonna see if I can get FSX to work. I bet it will work for me. My switching has been working great. Question: Does FSX do one of those wonky hardware checks before booting up or does it ask you to specify which GPU you want to use? If so, I def will not work on mine.

It should specify but dave seem hinted that it doesn't.

I know FSX works just fine on my 540, with most settings on medium-high and the traffic at highest. I don't sim on FSX much, they don't make military sims as they used to. :(

I know this is old, but when I try to start Minecraft on my new computer (dv6tqe 6100), I get an OpenGL error, just like my old dv6tqe, but the point is I can't run Minecraft even with the integrated graphics. Here's the error
