I recently discovered the specs of the 2140 as having everything that originally pushed my away from netbooks - 5ghz wireless-N, gigabit lan, and an expresscard slot. I'm highly interested in this.
I want to hear from owners of this model and their opinions on it. Are there any known or common issues? How quiet is the fan (most importantly to me)? Any other gripes?
Also, why is this only 50 bucks more than a mini 1000 and have way more specs? Thanks!

anyone owners out there?

Yep. I'm loving mine! The brushed metal case is terrific and to me it runs pretty quiet.
I also installed Windows 7 and it runs great. I thought about waiting on the higher res screen but I'm hearing rumors of delays and figured the price jump might be substantial so I went for it. No regrets! -
anyone have any bad pixels? i do admit, the perfectionist in my is worried I'll get one with something like that, even one. Can I exchange it if this happens (I'll even pay the $15 restock fee). Thanks!!

My wife has the hp mini 1000 and I have the asus eee 1000he. The hp 2140 is almost the same size as the hp 1000. All I can tell you is, HP makes the best keyboard for any netbook. I'm also impressed with how small the HPs are. Check out this pic:
If I can check out an hp 2140 with the 6 cell batery in person and like it, I might sell the eee. The extra cost of the hp gets you a smaller device with a better keyboard.
Mini 2140 owners? opinions?
