    Hi there,

I've got an HP DV9700T coming in and I want to upgrade from 2GB (2x1GB) to 3GB.

If it arrives with PC5300 sticks, is there any harm in switching out one of the 1GB PC5300 sticks with a 2GB PC5400 stick? Since there would be 1GB PC5300 stick and a 2GB PC5400 stick, I wanted to make sure this would be okay.

I'm looking at this PC5400 deal from Tiger Direct for the lifetime warranty:

    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...-details.asp?EdpNo=3164196&body=WARRANTY#tabs

or should I just get the PC5300 RAM from newegg:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211187

(Can't find anything about a warranty on the A-Data)

    Thanks in advance!

I don't trust rebates...that stick will cost $45 and you probably won't get the rebate for some stupid reason (in my experience, rebates are never honored).

    Go NewEgg.

Oh, and PC5300 and PC5400 are literally the same type of RAM...its just a marketing ploy.

5400=5300. Both run at 667. One's just rated for 675.

Well it looks to be the same price. Go with whichever one comes in the laptop.

Go with newegg.com it's a more reputable company.

I just saw 2GB sticks for around 25 bucks a pop. That's what I call good.
