Mobile Remote Control Express Card with Vista

Has anybody had any experience using the Mobile Remote Control Express Card with Vista....especially with the Media centre. i.e is there a button which starts up Media centre and is navigation easy ??

 

Theres no Media Center start up button option on it, but everything else workes great.

 

It works very good.

 

The new version does have amedia button and it works prefectly. I do not know where to buy them but if anyone finds out can they tell me as I have another laptop that I would like to purchase one for.

 

Doesn't the DVD or Music button start Media Center automatically? It does this on my XP version just fine.

 

What does your remote look like? The reason I ask is that mine was DOA on purchase with laptop(DV9030US) and HP replaced. Twice actually. The first replacement works fine. They got screwed up and delivered two. I don't have Vista yet so I don't know if this works.

However, the remote was NOT the same as the one that was included. Here is what my "new" one looks like. <hope this works with the picture below>

hmmm looks similar except the one I have is has a grey face and where the windows button is is where the music button is on mine. So thats the button to open media center in Windows? Cant we assign that to do the same in the old remote??

 

Well actually, it would have been nice if it had worked...I guess I haven't ever used the Windows button before until now. So if it doesn't work in Vista, I guess I won't be able to complain. I don't think I would use it anyways as once I get setup I use the navigation and vol buttons only.

Wonder if they are shipping new versions of remote for vista. My old one is gray too but we'll see what my new one looks like when I get my replacement laptop.
