    I JUST got my laptop today, which I ordered about two weeks ago from the HP website. However, when I opened the laptop, at the top right corner, the model says "dv2000." I ordered the new dv2700t Special Edition. I know it's not a huge deal, but I just wanted to know if this is anything I should be concerned about.

    Thanks in advance.

    Greetings - this has been brought up before - the dv2500's also had the "dv2000" identification. My dv2700 hasn't arrived yet but I expect it to have the same dv2000 info. How do you like it, and especially, how about your LCD?? Thanks

    I couldn't find a post about it, maybe I should have tried other search words. Everything else, like the label on the bottom, says dv2700.

    The laptop is pretty sleek. I can't type very well with the keyboard, but that's mainly because I'm not used to typing on one. The feel of it is nice though. It irked me a bit that on the special edition, there's a bit of a greasy looking smudge on the keys when you type. It's nothing major, but bothered me slightly.

    LCD is really bright and the clarity is great in my opinion. I had the nVidia graphics card put in, so the image quality looked good. It wasn't too reflective for me at the brightest setting. It looked much better than my friend's old Dell, but shinier and more reflective than my friend's Macs, from what I can remember of it anyway. Personally, I think the Mac makes images look whitewashed, like there's a white coat over the screen. Comparatively, my HP's colors look pretty vibrant next to the Mac (again, from memory.)

    I haven't messed with it too much, I'm still trying to find out how to remove the Yahoo!Search bar from my start bar. I wish the sleeve that came with the special edition was a bit bigger. I got the 12 cell battery, and even without that battery attached, the laptop was a bit tight when I tried to zip it close. I haven't tried to put it in with the battery in, but I doubt it would fit from the look of it...

    dv2000 = family
    dv2700 = series
    dv27XX = specific model
