I have an 8 inch monitor connected to my laptop and use it to display a gps program while driving. Only problem is when I close the lid to my laptop the screen goes blue. Is it possible to set up my laptop so when I close the lid the monitor stays on? I got the small monitor so I wouldn't have to keep my laptop open. =(

If you're using vista, you can go to power options and then change your plan so that nothing happens when you close the lid. You can then make it turn off the display after say 1 minute so that it doesn't go into sleep but still saves battery by keeping the display off.

I did exactly as you suggested, but when I close my lid the monitor still goes blank.
