    Hi all,
I have a Pavilion dv4000 that came with 512meg. I want to go to 1gig. Does anyone know what memory to use and a good place to get it. I know I'll have to get two matching chips of 512meg each...
    Thanks for any help!

wino_man, Frys.com has a sale that ends today where you can get 2x1G for $49.99, if I were you, I would get this in a heartbeat. It will make a world of a difference for your notebook.

Just double check to make sure your notebook can use this memory.

Don't know if you use XP or Vista but definitely 512 is the minimum

2Gb instead of 512 does a real difference

Thanks! Do you know how I can check to see if the memory will work? I have ordered it anyway just to not lose the deal.

Use either the Crucial System Scanner Tool or the Crucial Memory Advisor Tool located here: http://www.crucial.com/

Hopefully your laptop will be listed.
