Now we just need an Envy 12 and Envy 16 to cover the entire mainstream spectrum.

Hopefully they refresh the Envy 15 when these come out and fix the massive amount of problems they had with the first batch, and perhaps drop the price a bit.

HP DM4? That sounds enticing... if they add in expansion port 3, I'm all over it.

I really hope they add backlit keyboards and E2E displays man

Envy 17...been waiting to see that. Wouldn't mind waiting longer though since it would increase the chances it comes with a 5000 series card.

I was mulling over the DM4 and I'm thinking odds are it's not going to have an optical drive, so due to the larger chassis they should be able to fit in an 8-cell battery.

Imagine the battery life on that baby? Man.

Figure the cpu/video options should be about the same as the DM3, maybe a few more options... really hope the fools throw in backlit/e2e.

I wonder if the DV4 will go the way of the DV3 when the DM4 hits. Then again, the DV3 might be coming back... who knows.

Great, but what about the HDX series. They have not refreshed it yet, they are not even offering Windows 7 out of the box yet. It's ridiculous.

I am really liking my HP G70 (great value/performance for the $$) and am interested to see what HP is going to do to the machine for its mid-life refresh.

Wouldn't have been a bad idea to just do an Envy 12, 14, 16 and 18 to cover the sizes Apple doesn't offer with the MacBooks.

As a boutiquish brand name I dont see a point in offering the Envy in every possible size though.

Looks like HP's the only one not having itself shut when it comes to future releases. I feel this won't make it in time for the holidays, but hoping to see some in CES 2010.

And why not? lol...let the Envy substitute the Pavilion line (wait, not a good idea...)

I do agree here. I thought the Envy was a reserved brand for elite laptops...now they want to cover almost the entire spectrum...

My first day on the job I would take a page from Dell's marketing and the XPS....

Hp Envy HDX 16 and Envy HDX 18.

HP's marketing product managers have forgotten the fundamentals. It's called brand dilution and they are diluting the Envy brand.

What are the top 3 or 5 features you want in your DM4?

    Personally:
1-light - light , super light (No dvd pls). around 4 to 4.5lB max.
    2- switchable and powerful graphics(i.e,ATI 4XXX) + decent processor 1.6 GHZ or 1.73 GHZ.
3-consequently: great battery life 6-7 hours is about the sweet spot (for most including road warrior/cross country flights).
    4- Casing & Screen must be simply sexy gorgeous- Simple brushed aluminum+best LED +Res. 1280 X 800.
5-No need of 1,2.3 and 4 if it is not super super affordable (otherwise we already have that elsewere and better).

last but not least: usefull utilities/tools to mod or optimize profiles/performance (over/underlock...etc) . This growing area is a real need that HP shouldn't ignore. Asus is already a bit ahead of the game... Users want more tools to access/tweak their hardware.

Hear that HP?! If you can deliver, my $$$ will vote for you.

Curious what you guys want to see in DM4. Any one?....
...Hmmmh.. after reflection...from what I see DM3 size might be the optimal choice...

@Serg: I don't think so. It will have the usual 16:10 screen (DreamColor optional). The most important new feature is the Core i7 support.

I really hope so, considering ThinkPads are switching, and they were known for standing against the change...well...anyways great news...

I am drooling for one of these, too bad I just grabbed an Envy... :(
