    Hey,

So, since getting my dv6t earlier in the summer, i've been mostly happy with it. However, now my grad school has started, and realizing how much more convenient it is to take notes/do work on laptop. However, the few times I've taken the thing with me anywhere, it has been very heavy/uncomfortable/awkward for me. Now, part of this is I think a combination of I'm really not a large/strong person and previous to this i had a netbook only for a year so big change but...part of it, I think, is def the fact that my bag isn't really meant to be a laptop bag, ergonomically, at least not for a machine of this size.

So, I wanted to ask specifically other owners of this laptop. What bags do you use to carry yours around, if you do, that are comfortable? What would you suggest? Help would be appreciated, because its gotten so I'm seriously considering getting a super cheap netbook just for class, but if I can save the money and get a bag that might solve the problem...

Plus points if the bag looks fairly professional, and please, nothing with any leather anywhere. Leather *really* freaks me out...

I use HP's 16" Esteem Notebook bag for everyday. It's a good size without being bulky. Holds everything I need. Flashdrives, software disks, cables, adapter, spare battery and resting pad. I kind of like the way it uses a velcro strap to secure my notebook in place within the main compartment. DV6's that use the 9-cell batteries also fit easily inside the bag without having to first remove them. I also own the HP Professional Series Topload case which is considerably larger and probably more suited for those looking to lug around a notebook as well as other important documents/supplies in one bag. I like to use this one for traveling. Both are all nylon and polyester. I have never had a problem with either. The 16" Esteem can be found easily on eBay and sites such as Staples.com and CDW for around $20-$30 USD. The Professional Topload (HP part no AT886AA) sells for around $60.

The only thing I never cared for with the HP Esteem was that the stitching and logo is not white like you see it depicted in the images, but rather bright orange. But I've learned to live with it.

I use a north face hotshot bag which fits it perfectly. I don't feel the weight at all.

I use a swiss bag and it fits nicely, the only thing is that it's a bit big so I'm trying to find something to fill in the gaps, but other wise the bag is multi-layered so it'll be able to protect it well.
