This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Mouse antics

    Have bought a Compaq Presario for work. Just needed a very basic computer to get online to a server. Added Virgin Mobile Broadband, clipped at 512kbps (as if it ever gets anywhere near that).

    This thing has an odd bug - the curser keeps jumping back mid sentance which is really annoying, to say the least. I am aware of one other complaint - exactly the same description - online typing is nearly impossible. Never happens off line.

    I thought it might be the broadband speed, so I went back discuss this matter and was basically booted out -"you signed up so deal with it".

    I have doubled the RAM, made no difference. The only solution appears, fortunately, to be an inexpensive one which is either turn of the mouse!! or plug in an external mouse!

    I guess I would expect most name brand manufacturers to have sorted their products a bit better, at any price point.

    Any other users with recent model compaq computers that have this bug? An other solutions?
