Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any experience moving Keyboards around between the HP dv7-6197ca and the HP m6-1084ca? I have both laptops, and before I bother to take the keyboards off and swap them (The m6 has a back lit keyboard, and I use the dv7 99% of the time, in the dark) I was wondering if anyone had done it before? Are the keyboard even compatible with each other? Based on a Quick Glance tm I think it will work.

Just guessing… but if you’re trying to move a lighted keyboard from a M6 to a non-lighted DV7, even if the connectors are the same, the keyboard fit, and the key functions worked, the lighting function likely will not. Rationale: There would be no power provision on the DV7 for the lighted keyboard. It can’t be too much trouble to give it a try though.

    Best, Dave
