Pros:
Better plastics than B series, really nice.
Size
Batter life - in idle it uses 12W (UMA graphics)
Silent - fan almost always on though
Cons:
Display flexes a lot. If you hold it on the sides you can see some deformation of the screen at the edges.
Case flexes too much too.
When warm and you tap on the case it creaks.
Otherwise it's an awesome laptop.

At least the fan, while running all the time, is quiet. Why can't it be that way on the 8510p/8510w? The fan not only runs all the time, but it's loud too (based on other reviews and my nw8440, which is the predecessor to the 8510w).
How the laptop run performance-wise? -
I love my 6910p. Without a doubt it's the best laptop I have owned.

I think your top cover and lid isn't assembled properly. My nc6400's display doesn't flex, but the top cover does when you push hard on it. After long usage over several months, the top cover will begin to squeak, but once I removed the screw underneath and reseat it, it's fine again.
The addition of a vent underneath the keyboard has dramatically reduced heat and fan noise. Afaik, the older nc8430/nw8440 doesn't have this. -
The fan shouldn't always be on if you're on battery power.
There is a fan like sound coming from the HD, which is really quiet and only noticable in a silent room.
On AC power, the fan may always be on, but this can be adjusted via the BIOS (there's an option for 'Fan always on AC power' which can be disabled).
Web surfing the fan never comes on. Gaming the fan does come on, but not at the highest level (even with overclocked ATi X2300 graphics). Benchmarking fan will go onto highest level, which is quite loud but very bearable. -
Funny you mention the 'Fan alway on on AC power' BIOS option. It's actually disabled by default on my nw8440, and yet, after the machine has 'warmed up' for a few minutes, the fan will come on and will not shut off until shut down/standby/hibernate.
Then again, it's a well-known issue with the nc8430/nw8440, and the fan doesn't really bother me. Plus, they're based off a completely different design than the 6910p (After all, the nc8430/nw8440/8510p/8510w models have a 15.4" screen while the nc6400/6910p models have a 14.1" screen). -
About the display - it is properly assembled.
Also, for whom it may concern, the bios contains Vista and XP SLIC.
The power brick makes high pitched noises under low load
Just two issues:
Can I get it to wake up from sleep any faster? It takes some 30s to login.
Can I get the display not to blink on startup? - meh, will mess up the external screen functionality.
