The optical drive has stopped reading DVD's/CDs, the keyboard backlight cable has snapped, my keyboard is missing the "delete" key and now today, the CPU Fan has started to whine unexplainable loud... I think a fan bearing might of gone? It's really not looking good for my beloved E14 after 3 good years together

Does anyone know of a place (In the UK) where I can get some reasonably priced replacement parts, or is this the beginning of the end? I have emailed a couple of HP Part resellers over here and they want hundreds of £'s for some of the parts I mentioned... really not worth it

It's a sad, sad day indeed

Just sounds like a few things that need some fixing. You can buy all the parts straight off ebay for reasonable prices. A keyboard replacement, optical drive, and fan will definitely run you less than $100 US dollars. I think 1 pound ~ 1.5 USD.
