Mine is dv2211tx.After press the power on button, one long and two short beep,no POST.
I believe Nividia's faulty Geforce Go 7200 is responsible for this.

So is this Go 7200 a dedicated one or integrated with the motherboard?

If it's a dedicated one,is it possible to replace it instead of replacing the whole motherboard?

    Thanks

Even if its a dedicated card, HP has the GPUs soldered to the motherboard. So, unfortunately you might need a MoBo replacement if the GPU is dead.

Depending upon your BIOS utility, check the relevant Beep Codes at the BIOS manufacturer's site.

VGA Chip dry joints. Need to do BGA rework on VGA chip. Common problem on DV2000, DV6000, DV9000 and Compaq V3000.

I believe HP has extended their warranty on these machines in US. So contact HP to see what they say.

The defective models were sold worldwide. Definately call HP and tell them...

I know this is an old thread, but i have the same video card on the dv6000. I recently was successful at doing a reflow of the gpu at home, and i would suggest for any other frustrated users out there with the infamous failing gpu of HP to either take advantage of their extended warranty, or if its not available, to find someone technically savvy with a heat gun or with a reflow oven to do the relatively simple procedure. I would be willing to do a reflow for people for very cheap if they dont mind paying the shipping cost. Ive done quite a few, and unfortunately for laptop gamers, this can be an all too common and costly problem for those who dont know their options.
